November 2017

After visiting the site back in September and hearing all about how to be safe on a building site from the Site Manager, pupils drew some fantastic pictures on the theme of 'Site Safety'.

October 2017

Today was a very exciting day as some of our members of staff got the chance to go inside the new building!

September 2017

Our pupils had the chance to visit the building site and watch the final units be fitted! They also had a talk from the Site Manager, and were asked to create a colourful drawing on the theme of 'site safety'.

June 2017

We have been sent new images of our building all the way from Ireland! Our units are being constructed there in a factory, and will be delivered to our site to be installed once they are complete.

May 2017

We are pleased to inform you that the programme for the permanent building works has now been confirmed. Hoarding will be going up on site any day now, with the builders taking possession of the site on 13th June.

Manufacture of the modular building units will commence in May and are scheduled to be delivered on site in October. We should therefore see the building going up in the late autumn term. Early next year the interior fit-out of the building will commence. Completion is scheduled for Easter 2018.

March 2017

The DfE has confirmed additional funding for the permanent building project. This allows the DfE and the builder to finalise the contract for the programme. They are in the process of doing this. We expect this to be completed by mid-March.

After the contract is confirmed we should be in a position to circulate a timeline for demolition and build – but this is coming!

We are in the process of confirming plans for an additional classroom to be installed at the rear of the primary site for September – the DfE has yet to confirm.

December 2016

We are very pleased to announce that we have now been granted planning permission for our permanent building on Billet Road!

Once timings have been agreed with the contractor, we will be circulating a construction programme and we will continue to keep parents informed throughout the process.

Our key priority will be to ensure that there is no impact whatsoever on teaching and learning for Walthamstow Primary pupils; they will remain in their current temporary classrooms, which are well away from the construction site, until the work is complete.

We appreciate this has been a long process so we would very much like to thank you for your patience and support. While we will be able to give you a more definitive timeline when the construction programme is agreed we would like to congratulate all pupils and parents on the recent news. We are as excited as you are that planning has finally been secured and we can look forward to life in a brand new, permanent building!
